I wondered whether they would have technology on the ships, and apparently they do, but Shinji's the type of kid that would be so pissed off if [his laptop] got wet and broke, so he's hand writing it. He's put his laptop somewhere where he hopes it will stay dry since he doesn't particularly trust how well the ship's been built, nor how careful any of Niflheim are with rum and other drinks.
